AR / Collections Team Leader

About the Role
We are looking for a highly driven AR / Collections Team Leader to take ownership of our collections function and turn it into a structured, high-performing operation.
This is not a traditional “people manager” role. We are looking for someone who can lead through systems, accountability, metrics, and process improvement — not just oversight.
You will be responsible for driving team performance, improving workflows, building operational structure, and ensuring consistent collection results across the department.

Key ResponsibilitiesOwn Team Performance
- Take full accountability for collections performance and aging
- Identify root causes impacting results, including:
- Process gaps
- Training issues
- Lack of clarity
- Execution failures
- Implement practical solutions that improve overall performance
Drive Results Through Metrics & Structure
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Track daily activity, follow-ups, timelines, and productivity
- Build clear reporting systems and dashboards
- Use data to improve team effectiveness and collection outcomes
Lead a High-Performance Team
- Set and maintain clear performance expectations
- Coach and develop team members consistently
- Train staff to confidently handle objections and difficult conversations
- Address underperformance quickly through structured performance management
Improve Processes & Systems
- Identify bottlenecks and operational inefficiencies
- Improve workflows to create better consistency and throughput
- Ensure visibility into all aspects of team performance
- Help build scalable systems that support long-term growth
Manage Escalations & Pressure Professionally
- Handle challenging conversations with confidence and professionalism
- Maintain standards while remaining solution-focused
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment
- Required Experience & Skills
- 5+ years in Process Management, including:Preferred Experience
- 5+ years in a team leadership or management role
- Experience managing remote or international teams
- Background in collections, operations, customer service, or performance-driven environments
- Experience building training processes, coaching frameworks, or performance improvement systems
- Managing teams
- Identifying performance, skill, and knowledge gaps
- Implementing solutions to improve team effectiveness and results
- Strong leadership and people management experience within a high-performance environment
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and develop team members to improve confidence, communication, and overall performance
- Strong objection handling and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to train team members to confidently overcome pushback and difficult conversations
- Experience conducting performance management conversations, coaching sessions, and structured improvement plans
- Strong understanding of KPIs, reporting, productivity metrics, and performance drivers
- Highly analytical and systems-oriented mindset with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement improvements
- Strong Excel and reporting skills with the ability to work comfortably with performance data
- Ability to lead effectively in a remote, high-accountability environment
- Strong communication, accountability, and decision-making skills
- Ability to maintain high standards while motivating and developing a team
What Success Looks Like
Within the first 3–6 months, you will:
- Establish full visibility into team KPIs and performance
- Implement clear standards and accountability measures
- Improve collections rates and team consistency
- Address underperformance effectively
- Introduce measurable process or system improvements
