Job Details
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Sales for our Southeast region in the Food Service industry. This is a unique opportunity for an ambitious individual with a background in food service sales, specifically frozen desserts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in territory management, broker and distributor partner development, key account management, and new business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing successful strategic sales plans to achieve corporate objectives within the region and represent the company in a highly professional manner. Reports to the Senior Vice President, Food Service.
Location: Ideally based in Florida or Georgia
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve corporate goals in the Southeast Region, including NC, SC, GA, FL, TN, AL
- Effectively manage a network of broker and distributor partners to maximize product representation and sales, including training, joint presentations, tradeshow participation, and sales planning.
- Actively prospect new, high value business opportunities through independent sales efforts and through joint calls with broker/distributor partners.
- Build and maintain relationships with key accounts to secure long-term business.
- Maintain close communications with field and corporate management, responding promptly to requests made
- Complete periodic reports and other required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Control expenditures to conform with company budgetary requirements and complete expense reports on time
- Serve as a true team member by providing the support needed to help promote the success of your colleagues and the company.
- Always represent the company in a highly professional manner
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the food service industry, frozen dessert experience a plus.
- Proven track record managing a multi-state territory, managing food service brokers and an effective distributor network, and calling on key/national accounts.
- Excellent written and oral presentation skills with the ability to convey information in a highly professional manner
- A detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently and exhibit outstanding follow-through.
- A skillful negotiator, competent in closing complex deals.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to effectively analyze data to support competent decision making
- Works well under pressure, able to prioritize tasks, and remain flexible to meet multiple deadlines with little daily supervision
- Effectively manage time and expenses with travel up to 60%
- A loyal team player with excellent leadership skills
