Position Overview
As our Client Accountant, you’ll play a vital role in delivering Client Accounting Services (CAS) and tax planning, preparation, and advisory services to support our clients' financial success while building and maintaining lasting relationships. This role requires prior experience in a CPA firm providing CAS and tax advisory services directly to clients. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your schedule while working closely with other team members who value collaboration, integrity, and professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct client onboarding by meeting with new clients, gathering financial data, and establishing project scopes, procedures and delivery outlines.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and provide accounting services and tax advisory support.
- Manage and process accounting transactions in QuickBooks (desktop and online), ensuring accuracy.
- Reconcile client accounts, prepare financial statements, and maintain records in line with CAS (Client Accounting Services) standards.
- Create tailored financial reports to provide clients with insights and actionable guidance.
- Provide responsive and ongoing support to client inquiries throughout the year.
- Assist in tax planning, preparation, and advisory services for clients, helping them navigate complex tax requirements and optimize their tax strategies.
- Partner with team members on accounting-related projects, keeping stakeholders informed.
- Contribute to process improvements that support efficient CAS and tax advisory service delivery.
- Assist the CPA with pre-tax preparation and tax advisory work.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or similar experience.
- Experience: 5-10+ years of accounting experience, including client-facing roles in a CPA firm, specifically delivering Client Accounting Services (CAS) and tax planning, preparation, and advisory services.
- Technical Expertise:
- Advanced knowledge of QuickBooks (desktop and online).
- Expertise in payroll processes.
- Demonstrated experience in tax planning, preparation, and advisory services for clients.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Proficiency with online software (Lacerte, Karbon and Teams is a plus)
- Ideal: CPA, EA or Tax Preparer certification is a ideal, with the higher range of compensation offered for these credentials.
