Black birthing people face numerous challenges to experiencing a safe, healthy birth in the U.S. From maternal and infant mortality and morbidity, to maternal mental health. Our mission is to provide a virtual community where Black birthing people and their families are educated and empowered to advocate for the health and wellbeing of mother and child.
Our collaboration of health and wellbeing professionals provides access to education and resources on conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum care.

They are looking for a VOLUNTEER Graphic Designer.
Role Description: Birthing the Magic Collaborative (BTM) is seeking a talented and passionate volunteer with graphic design experience to help us create visually compelling materials that support our mission of curating perinatal education for Black birthing people.
What We’re Looking For:
We need a volunteer with a keen eye for design, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to convey impactful messages visually. We'd love to hear from you if you’re creative, collaborative, and passionate about maternal health and equity!
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop engaging graphics for social media, presentations, and event promotions.
- Create visually aligned materials such as flyers, infographics, and brochures.
- Ensure designs reflect BTM’s mission and resonate with our target audience.
- Collaborate with the team to translate ideas into impactful visuals.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Proficiency in Canva is a must. Experience with other graphic design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is a plus.
- Experience designing for social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn).
- Strong typography and layout skills.
- Knowledge of culturally relevant design principles, especially for Black communities.
- Ability to work collaboratively and meet deadlines.
- Basic understanding of brand consistency and visual storytelling.
Preferred (but not required):
- Video editing or animation skills (e.g., Canva Pro, After Effects).
- Experience in nonprofit design work.
