We are seeking an experienced and highly autonomous Senior Bookkeeper to manage full-cycle bookkeeping, trust accounting, and corporate compliance for a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate has advanced expertise in Canadian accounting practices, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-client environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Oversee trust accounting processes and ensure compliance with applicable legal and financial regulations.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring they are accurate and audit-ready.
- Handle complex journal entries, adjustments, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
- Manage federal and provincial compliance requirements, including HST filings and year-end payroll reporting (T4/T5).
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records across multiple client accounts.
- Work independently to manage deadlines and ensure timely delivery of financial reports.
- Utilize accounting systems to track, report, and manage financial data effectively.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably in a multi-client environment.
- Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is required.
- Strong experience with Clio and legal accounting practices, including trust accounting.
- Advanced knowledge of Canadian tax compliance, including Ontario payroll, HST, and year-end reporting requirements (T4s/T5s).
- Proven ability to manage multiple clients simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Work Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of computer use and financial data management.
- Ability to review and analyze financial records with a high level of precision.
- Comfortable working remotely and handling multiple client accounts simultaneously.
