Your Role
As a Bilingual Virtual Medical Assistant (VMA), you will be an essential part of both clinical and administrative operations for healthcare providers in the U.S. This fully remote role is ideal for medical graduates or healthcare professionals seeking a rewarding career with strong growth potential in an international healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative Support
- Manage physician schedules and coordinate patient appointments efficiently.
- Maintain and update Electronic Health Records (EHR) with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Handle documentation, prior authorizations, and ensure ongoing compliance with healthcare regulations.
Clinical Assistance
- Prepare patient charts and coordinate lab and diagnostic orders.
- Communicate lab and imaging results to patients in a professional and empathetic manner.
- Assist with medication management, treatment plans, and patient follow-ups.
- Enroll patients in support programs including medication assistance, transportation, disability benefits, housing, and food services.
Patient Engagement
- Serve as a compassionate liaison between patients, physicians, pharmacies, and healthcare providers.
- Provide clear, empathetic guidance to patients regarding their care plans and next steps.
- Deliver outstanding patient support with a consistently positive and professional attitude.
- Coordinate appointment follow-ups and patient reactivations as needed.
Qualifications
Experience & Skills
- 1–2 years of experience in mental health, radiology, or U.S. healthcare patient communication.
- Proven ability to handle outbound follow-ups and patient reactivations.
- Strong understanding of patient communication and appointment scheduling workflows.
Language Proficiency
- Fluent in English and Spanish both written and verbal with an excellent phone presence.
- Ability to communicate medical information clearly and accurately in both languages.
Technical & Personal Requirements
- Must reside in Latin America and be available to work U.S. time zones.
- Proficient with technology: EHR platforms, scheduling tools, SMS systems, and basic office software.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection.
