National Director of Sales
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a National Director of Sales to lead and grow a high-performing outside sales organization across multiple markets.
This role is ideal for a strategic, results-driven sales leader with experience managing teams of outside sales managers on a national scale. The right candidate will bring a strong track record of building sales teams, driving revenue growth, developing market expansion strategies, and holding teams accountable to performance goals.
Industry experience is flexible. We are open to candidates from a wide range of B2B sales backgrounds, provided they have proven success leading national outside sales teams and developing managers who drive new business growth.

What You’ll Do
- Lead, coach, and develop a national team of outside sales managers
- Drive new business growth across multiple markets and territories
- Develop and execute national sales strategies aligned with company revenue goals
- Establish sales processes, performance standards, KPIs, and accountability measures
- Partner with regional sales leaders and outside sales managers to improve pipeline generation, conversion rates, and closing performance
- Support major client opportunities, presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations
- Identify new market opportunities and recommend strategies for expansion
- Build strong relationships with key clients, prospects, and strategic partners
- Collaborate with operations to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery for new accounts
- Maintain accurate forecasting, pipeline reporting, and CRM discipline across the sales organization
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and sales performance to adjust strategy as needed
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience leading teams of outside sales managers on a national or multi-market level
- Strong B2B sales leadership background; specific industry experience is not required
- Demonstrated success building, scaling, and managing high-performing sales teams
- Experience developing sales strategy, territory plans, quotas, KPIs, and accountability systems
- Strong ability to coach sales managers, inspect pipeline activity, and drive consistent execution
- Proven track record of revenue growth, new business development, and market expansion
- Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership, and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized, self-motivated, analytical, and results-oriented
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Ability to travel nationally as needed
