Position: Part-Time Accountant & Bookkeeper
Sales Tax Colorado is a growing, Colorado local, national practice accounting and sales and use tax firm. Our team is highly specialized in sales and use tax matters and accounting needs of our clients. Our professionals handle multi-state issues with a special focus on Colorado State taxation regulations. Sales Tax Colorado was founded on a business model that emphasizes effectiveness, accountability and client-driven value. We work with a variety of industries including advertising, construction, financial services, hotel, internet sales, IT services, oil and gas, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, restaurant, retail, software, telecommunications, and others.
Our boutique accounting and consulting firm is looking for a part-time bookkeeper to join our accounting team. The primary responsibilities of this position include performing general bookkeeping services for clients (journal entries, bank reconciliations, and account analysis) as well as preparing and filing sales tax returns. Candidate must be proficient in Excel and have a knowledge of QuickBooks Online. An accounting degree is desired but not required.
This is a remote position for Min 30 hours per week with the potential for increased hours. The candidate must be located in Colorado. The starting pay range is $30-$40 per hour depending on experience. Please include salary range requirements when submitting your resume, thanks.

Essential Job Responsibilities
· Monthly bookkeeping including but not limited to bank reconciliations, review/entry expense invoices, recording income transactions and recording journal entries.
· Preparation of financial statements
· Account analysis
· Sales tax returns
· Investment activity/reconciliations
· Additional work as assigned like, prior period review cleanup and client process improvements.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associates Degree in Accounting (Minimum two years of accounting course work required)
· 3+ years of relevant bookkeeping experience (education can replace experience).
· Familiarity with sales and use taxes.
· Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar role.
· Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
· Proficiency in accounting software: QuickBooks Online
· Must have proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Planner)
· Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
· Attention to detail and problem solving skills
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Demonstrate good judgement, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to ethical standards
· Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task
· Positive, no-task-too-small attitude
Preferred Additional Qualifications
· QuickBooks Online Certified
· Experience with other accounting software like Xero, NetSuite, Sage
· Willingness to learn and adapt
· Proactive work ethic
