About the role
General Job Description: The role is responsible for leading and overseeing all field maintenance operations, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards. They are ultimately accountable for the successful delivery of the field portion of our scope, translating strategy into consistent operational performance. This role drives accountability, resource planning, and cross-functional coordination to meet customer expectations and organizational goals. In addition to operational leadership, this role represents RNWBLs externally with clients, utilities, and partners by demonstrating deep internal competence and execution credibility.
Key Responsibilities:
To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to effectively execute each essential duty. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead and promote the importance of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, ensuring contractual and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures for solar and battery storage on-site operations.
- Review contractual maintenance requirements and ensure programs are in place to achieve such scopes of work; including development of annual maintenance plans.
- Prioritizing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual activities effectively utilizing CMMS with a focus on maintaining availability, response time, and other KPIs.
- Follow RNWBL process to ensure additional service activities are billed to customer and provide feedback to improve such process.
- Advocate for adherence to best operational practices as established by corporate standards.
- Conduct routine field inspections; frequency to be agreed upon.
- Set and maintain high standards for housekeeping and overall cleanliness.
- Assign tasks and hold employees accountable for their performance.
- Establish an operational accountability structure and ensure regular monitoring of critical parameters supporting operations.
- Create and manage the annual additional services budget for the projects in the S&B portfolio, ensuring efficient use of company resources & vendors.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal teams within Asset Management and other necessary divisions such as High Voltage and Site Services.
- Develop coaching methods and systems that encourage personal accountability of the technicians. Maintain training log to ensure technicians are pre-qualified to perform the work they are being asked to perform.
- Design and uphold high-quality training methods to attract, retain, and develop a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Provide regular performance feedback to employees, enabling them to leverage their strengths and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria to qualify:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience (solar O&M). Experience with commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline strongly preferred
- Be able to provide 2 references to speak on candidate’s relevant experience
Skills:
- Proven management and leadership skills for a geographically diverse team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization and external vendors.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, resourceful, and detail oriented.
- A continuous improvement mindset.
Additional Requirements:
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
- Complete a satisfactory criminal background check.
- Able to work a flexible schedule and travel as needed for work or training.
- Must have a valid driver's license and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record.
