Overview:
Wave is a design-build audio, video, and lighting integration company creating innovative AVL environments for churches, commercial spaces, entertainment, education, and sporting venues.
Wave is seeking a motivated Audio-Visual (AV) Systems Design Engineer to join our growing team. This individual engineers holistic solutions that hit the mark of being technically sound, client-aligned and built to perform. This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering.
The ideal candidate is fluent in Revit and VectorWorks, comfortable reading architectural drawings, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment where learning never stops. This role comes with a competitive salary and a benefits package.
Essential Functions:
- Create and maintain technical drawings, system designs, and documentation for AVL system installations
- Act as a technical lead on projects from design through implementation
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, vendors, and clients to ensure system integration
- Ensure all systems meet project specifications, timelines, and client expectations
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously across various phases
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
- Ability to travel up to 25% as needed for on-site project support
- Support additional project or team needs as required
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Revit and Vectorworks
- Strong knowledge of multidisciplinary audio, video, and lighting (AVL) industry standards
- Strong interpersonal skills; collaborative, approachable, and team-oriented
- Strong communication skills; able to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Exhibits a strong work ethic with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Alignment with company values, culture, and team-first mindset
- Ability to balance attention to detail with forward momentum toward overall project goals
- Experience in live production environments (house of worship experience preferred)
- Familiarity with architectural-style drawings and documentation preferred
- CTS-D or similar certification preferred (not required)
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
