Job Summary
The Health and Benefits Sales Professional is responsible for developing and closing new business opportunities in the employee benefits consulting space. This role focuses on selling health and benefits consulting solutions to mid-market organizations (approximately 1,000–5,000 employees), leveraging consultative sales strategies and industry expertise to address employer challenges related to employee benefits, healthcare, financial security, and workforce wellbeing.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and grow a large book of business consisting of complex or high-value client accounts
- Conduct sales presentations, meetings, and calls with prospective and existing clients
- Generate new business through cold calling, networking, and industry engagement
- Develop customized proposals, RFP responses, and sales presentations addressing client needs
- Lead the full sales lifecycle from prospect identification through pricing negotiation and closing
- Conduct market research and industry analysis to identify new business opportunities
- Maintain strong relationships with client stakeholders and ensure service satisfaction
- Introduce and sell additional solutions to existing clients to expand business opportunities
- Collaborate internally with service teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver solutions
- Participate in professional associations, industry events, and networking opportunities to expand business relationships
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS)
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant sales experience
- Proven track record of achieving or exceeding sales goals
- Experience selling employee benefits solutions to companies with approximately 1,000–5,000 employees
- Knowledge of the employee benefits consulting or health and benefits industry
- Strong ability to build relationships and access C-suite executives
- Demonstrated consultative sales experience within the mid-market segment
- Target candidates should have true mid-market broker-style consultative sales experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Life and Health Insurance License
- Additional professional sales certifications or industry credentials
Candidates must work in a hybrid model with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote
