Job Title: Chief Marketing Officer (CMO)
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced, strategic, and innovation-driven Chief Marketing Officer to lead all aspects of 360° marketing—including Brand, Communications, Growth, Ecommerce, and Creative. This role will own the brand’s marketing vision, brand positioning, demand generation strategy, and omnichannel growth roadmap across both DTC and wholesale channels. The ideal candidate comes with deep experience in skincare, proven omnichannel expansion, and a strong command of P&L management and ROAS optimization. They will partner closely with the President and Founder/CEO to scale the brand, elevate storytelling, and execute high-impact product launches.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the brand’s overarching 360 marketing strategy across Brand, Comms, Growth, Creative, and Ecommerce.
- Drive brand positioning, messaging, and long-term marketing vision to strengthen the brand’s leadership in the skincare category.
- Serve as a strategic partner to the President and Founder/CEO on company-wide initiatives, brand direction, and growth opportunities.
Brand, Creative & Communications
- Oversee brand marketing, creative direction, content development, and all consumer-facing storytelling.
- Ensure consistent brand voice, visual identity, and messaging across channels, campaigns, and partners.
- Lead PR, communications, influencer strategies, and community engagement to strengthen brand awareness and equity.
Growth, Ecommerce & Performance Marketing
- Own the performance marketing strategy with emphasis on ROAS, CAC, retention, and lifetime value optimization.
- Oversee ecommerce growth initiatives and conversion optimization across digital platforms.
- Build and manage the omnichannel marketing playbook to drive both DTC and wholesale revenue.
Product Launches & GTM Execution
- Lead 360 product launch planning, including positioning, messaging, creative, channel strategy, and go-to-market rollout.
- Partner with product development, supply chain, and retail partners to ensure seamless launch execution and demand forecasting.
Analytics, Financials & P&L Accountability
- Own marketing budgets, forecasting, and reporting; ensure efficient allocation of spend and alignment with business objectives.
- Provide ongoing analysis of performance data, consumer insights, and competitive trends to guide decision-making.
- Maintain full P&L accountability for marketing channels and optimize for profitability and sustainable growth.
Team Leadership
- Manage and mentor a growing marketing team (currently 2 direct reports).
- Build structure, process, and best practices to support scaled marketing operations.
- Foster a collaborative, innovative, and performance-driven culture.
Required Experience & Qualifications:
- Skincare or beauty industry experience required.
- Proven success leading omnichannel marketing strategies (DTC + Wholesale).
- Demonstrated P&L ownership with strong understanding of ROAS, CAC, retention, and revenue drivers.
- Direct leadership of Brand Marketing, Growth/Performance, Creative/Brand teams.
- Extensive 360 experience managing end-to-end product launches.
- Strong storytelling, brand-building, and consumer insights expertise.
- Highly strategic yet comfortable rolling up sleeves in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
Salary $300,000-$325,000 + Equity
