Jennifer McGurk, CEO of Pursuing Private Practice, is hiring a virtual administrative assistant with a marketing focus to help grow our brand and inspire dietitians to see what’s possible as business owners.
This role supports both marketing and operations by increasing brand visibility, engaging our community of dietitians, promoting programs and events, and keeping administrative systems organized. Responsibilities include marketing and visibility efforts, podcast coordination, and operational support within Business School.
This position is an entry-level to mid-levelcontract position, with an estimated start date of February 10th, 2026.
The position is open to US-based residents.
The contractor rate ranges between $25-$35/hour depending on prior experience, productivity, and results. This is a virtual position. The contract will likely last 12 months in duration, but TBD.
The position is approximately 20 hours/month with the flexibility to increase or decrease hours as needed by the company. At least 2 of these hours will be spent meeting with the CEO to discuss the month’s projects. As a contractor, you pick when you work.
*Note that the contractor should be familiar with the following systems: Kit, Libsyn, Canva, Gmail, Google Drive/Docs/Sheets, ChatGPT, Asana, Zapier, Zoom, Meta (Facebook/IG), LinkedIn, and WordPress (only for admin tasks like posting blogs).
Job Responsibilities and Expectations
Manage the marketing calendar for the company, including but not limited to email marketing, social media management, and PR communications. (~10 hours/month)
- Prep emails in advance for the CEO to review and edit. PPP usually sends 2 real-time emails per week.
- Update nurture emails and sales emails depending on the current launch cycle.
- Plan, organize, and repurpose PPP content for marketing. This includes reusing previous content/themes from the past and experimenting with new concepts. Our content usually starts with our monthly theme and is repurposed into social media content on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. Content should be scheduled at least 3 times per week and will follow an established plan, needing updates depending on market research.
- Be aware of metrics and KPIs to plan efficiently and productively.
Assist with the Pursuing Private Practice podcast planning based on marketing goals. We usually produce 1 podcast episode/week. (~3-5 hours/month when in season)
- Help organize the monthly themes of the podcast.
- Upload raw audio of the podcast, prep any edits needed for our podcast editor, and submit episodes for editing.
- Create show notes and marketing content from the podcast episode using AI software.
Help with any client-facing projects within Business School. This may include updating workbooks, creating Facebook group prompts, help in writing weekly program emails, and any special projects as needed. (~1-3 hours/month)
The following tasks will be on an “as-needed” basis:
- Help manage the company admin email account, including updating templates.
- Organize any networking projects and assist with reaching out to potential connections for collaborations.
- Organize media outlets (including pitching for articles, media segments, other podcasts, etc) based on overall marketing goals.
- Supporting the Pursuing Private Practice website with any admin tasks, including updating blog posts.
- Create PowerPoints for any speaking presentations.
- Help with any research needed for any content/deliverables.
