Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team, responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of heavy-duty diesel equipment, including farm machinery, industrial equipment, and vehicle fleets. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, experience with diesel engine repair, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with state-of-the-art tools and equipment, ensuring optimal performance and safety across all machinery.
Duties
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and HVAC systems.
- Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts, and wheel alignments.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools.
- Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers for maintenance or repair purposes.
- Assist in assembly and disassembly of machinery for repairs or upgrades.
- Conduct safety inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or Service Technician with strong mechanical knowledge.
- Dealership experience preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, hydraulics, and power tools.
- Hands-on experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Ability to read schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex systems.
- Skilled in welding, soldering, tire service, alignment, and vehicle maintenance procedures.
- Physical ability to lift heavy components safely and perform manual labor involving heavy lifting.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with team members and clients. This position requires a dedicated professional committed to quality workmanship and safety standards. Candidates should possess a combination of technical expertise and practical experience in diesel engine repair and heavy equipment maintenance to succeed in this role.
