You’ll build forecasts and models, analyze performance, and provide insights that drive decisions — while also stepping into AR/AP workflows, ensuring cash timing accuracy, and supporting month-end close.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both strategic analysis and rolling up their sleeves to help with the financial operations that keep a startup running smoothly.

- Own and update the company’s financial models and assumptions
- Create scenario analyses (pricing, hiring, inventory planning, channel mix, etc.)
Financial Analysis- Analyze unit economics, gross margins, and product/channel profitability
- Prepare and maintain budget vs. actual reporting with clear variance explanations
- Translate financial results into insights and recommendations for leadership
AR/AP Oversight & Operational Finance- Oversee internal AR/AP processes and ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Step into AR/AP tools (QuickBooks, Bill.com, etc.) to resolve issues and streamline workflows
- Monitor AR/AP levels and ensure they stay within reasonable limits
- Use AR/AP data to keep cash flow and working capital forecasts accurate
Month-End Close Support- Provide bookkeepers with inventory data, COGS inputs, schedules, and reconciliations
- Partner with accounting to ensure clean monthly close
- Compile internal reporting packages (KPIs, cash trends, contribution margins, etc.)
Cross-Functional Partnership- Support Operations with inventory planning, landed cost updates, and PO forecasting
- Work with Sales and Marketing to model revenue, channel performance, and demand
- Collaborate with the fractional CFO on financial strategy, budgeting, and board materials
Qualifications- 4–7 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, or a related field
- Strong financial modeling skills; able to build and maintain complex models
- Experience owning or supporting AR/AP processes in a small or growing finance team
- Comfortable with both strategic analysis and hands-on operational tasks
- Strong communication skills; able to partner with non-finance teams
- Experience supporting month-end close and working with accounting teams
Nice to Have- CPG, e-commerce, DTC, or inventory-based business experience
- Experience with tools like QuickBooks, Bill.com, Expensify, Mosaic, Cube, or Fathom
- Understanding of landed costs, cost accounting, or inventory analysis
- SQL or BI tool familiarity
- CPA or CFA
What Success Looks Like- AR/AP runs smoothly with minimal executive oversight
- Forecasts are reliable and regularly updated
- Leadership has full visibility into cash, margins, and performance trends
- Books remain clean and close smoothly each month
- The COO regains the significant time currently spent on modeling and financial operations
Compensation
- $90,000 - $115,000 annual salary, depending on experience/qualifications
- $500/month QSEHRA reimbursement
