Amentum is seeking a Payroll Assistant to support a large contract in Northern Virginia. The PA will assist the Resource Logistics Manager and Business Manager enter daily time sheets and other administrative functions, for a program that employs more than 500 people. The PA will process paper time sheets from multiple locations as part of a matrixed organization. Every day, they will input the correct time and charge code allocation into Amentum's Costpoint accounting system. This person will carry out tasks in compliance with established procedures and make creative suggestions to boost productivity. The PA will need to keep a flexible work schedule to process time sheets on holidays and over the weekend, typically for 4-6 hours, as the program runs around the clock. In addition, the PA oversees monitoring their own progress, reporting performance and QA metrics, and performing quality checks on other employees’ time entry. This person should be a productive self-starter who can work both independently and within a team.
Required Qualifications:
Must have an Active Top Secret US Government Clearance. Note: US Citizenship is required to maintain a Top Secret Clearance.
Working knowledge of military time and basic arithmetic to calculate working hours from start and end times
Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically EXCEL
Demonstrated knowledge and experience with maintaining and managing automated systems, software and hardware infrastructure
