Role Description We’re seeking a full-time, remote Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records for Skymount Buys Houses. Responsibilities include managing transactions, accounts payable/receivable, preparing financial statements, and supporting month-end/year-end closings. Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and prioritization skills are essential.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills (Your “clients” include both Skymount and out stakeholders)
- Solid experience in bookkeeping or accounting, preferably with general real estate bookkeeping exposure
- QuickBooks Certification (required) and strong working knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and accounting systems
- Familiarity with classes and projects in QuickBooks (huge plus)
- Self-discipline, excellent time management, and resilience under deadlines
- A strong problem-solving-mindset, because you won’t just enter numbers, you’ll help identify financial issues, propose solutions, and work alongside leadership to keep projects on track
- Ability to work at least 6 hours per day on the night shift.
- Confidence in working independently while communicating clearly and collaborating with the team when needed.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Recording daily financial transactions with accuracy
2. Maintaining and reconciling accounts, ledgers, and bank statements
3. Preparing invoices, track payments, and manage accounts payable/receivable
4. Generating financial reports to support decision-making
5. Collaborating with the team to ensure compliance and smooth operations
6. Keeping clean, well-organized financial records
7. Supporting audits and tax preparation when needed
8. Paying utility bills weekly
9. Issue weekly contractor checks using QuickBooks
10. Process staff payroll on varying cycles through QuickBooks
