About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Accountant to own the company's day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping, and keep our financials accurate, organized, and up to date.
This role involves working with multiple entities, so the ability to manage separate sets of books and navigate across different organizational structures is essential. You will work closely with leadership to ensure clean financials and support the team as we grow.
Responsibilities
- Own the full accounting cycle, including general ledger management, journal entries, accruals, and adjustments;
- Record and categorize financial transactions across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and the general ledger;
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements on a monthly basis;
- Prepare and review financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries;
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy;
- Process invoices, payments, and expense reimbursements in a timely manner;
- Manage vendor relationships and ensure all payments are tracked and documented;
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with relevant tax and reporting requirements;
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax professionals during audits and tax filings;
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation;
- Identify financial discrepancies, flag anomalies, and recommend corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Strong English communication skills (oral/written/comprehension);
- 3+ years of accounting experience;
- Strong, hands-on proficiency with QuickBooks Online is required;
- Solid understanding of accounting principles (GAAP familiarity preferred);
- High attention to detail and accuracy;
- Comfortable working with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets);
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- Reliable and strong internet connection and the ability to work independently in a remote, offshore setting.
Nice to Haves
- Accounting designation or a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
- Experience managing books for multiple entities is an asset;
- Experience at a startup or small business is a plus;
- Familiarity with Canadian tax and regulatory requirements;
- Bilingualism FR/EN.

Contract length: 12 months
Pay: $225,373.53 - $313,018.79 per year
