Event Marketing Lead — Senior Contractor (US based)
Location: Remote with regular US hours
Type: Temporary Contract (Senior Marketing Consultant)
Start: Immediate availability preferred
About the role
We’re hiring a senior Event Marketing Lead to own end-to-end marketing for the launch of a major B2B event in the US. You will build and run a data-led, multi-channel marketing engine that converts returning audiences and acquires new, qualified HR and people-leader delegates, driving both volume and delegate revenue.
You will be expected to work the marketing plan, owning the marketing engine for the event from strategy through to execution, optimisation and performance tracking.
Key responsibilities
- Develop the go-to-market strategy for the launch: audience segmentation, channel strategy, campaign phases, messaging and conversion approach.
- Own campaign execution across email, website, paid social, partnerships, content and retargeting; coordinate internal teams and external suppliers.
- Drive delegate demand generation and align activity with Delegate Sales to ensure high-value lead flow and team-booking opportunities.
- Build and maintain performance systems: weekly channel tracker rolled up to registrations, ticket types and delegate revenue.
- Plan side events and activations: audience targets, channel ownership and attrition-adjusted attendance forecasting.
- Manage budget and ROI: recommend spend changes and optimisations based on performance.
What we’re looking for
- Proven senior marketer with 6+ years in B2B event marketing or demand generation, ideally with US market experience.
- Strong commercial mindset with demonstrable success hitting volume and revenue targets for events or complex product launches.
- Hands-on multi-channel expertise across paid social, email, web conversion, partnerships and content-led acquisition.
- Data-first approach: experience building trackers, dashboards and running continuous optimisation and A/B testing.
- Sales alignment experience: history of working tightly with delegate or enterprise sales teams to convert high-value leads.
- Excellent stakeholder skills and the ability to operate autonomously while keeping senior leadership informed.
Nice-to-have
- Prior experience migrating or retaining audiences between event locations.
- Background enterprise SaaS audiences
- Experience planning and marketing side events, activations or multi-day conference programming.
What's on offer
- High-impact, autonomous contractor role leading a flagship US launch.
- Collaborative cross-functional stakeholders and access to historical campaign data and brand assets.
- Competitive day rate, budget ownership and clear success metrics.
