Role Overview: This position offers an opportunity to play a vital role in a growing estate planning practice by supporting the creation of high-quality, client-ready legal documents. As an Estate Planning Legal Assistant at Job Duck, you will focus on drafting, reviewing, and maintaining estate planning documents while ensuring files move smoothly through structured workflows. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys precision-driven work, thrives in systems, and takes ownership of deliverables from start to finish. You will work closely with attorneys and internal team members, contributing directly to document quality, efficiency, and overall client experience. Success in this role comes from consistency, accountability, and a strong commitment to accuracy.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM EST (USA)
Your Responsibilities Will Include but Are Not Limited To:
- Supporting light administrative legal tasks and workflow improvements as needed
- Participating in weekly team meetings via video conference
- Identifying missing or unclear information and flagging issues promptly
- Tracking drafting status and ensuring timely movement of files to attorney review
- Reviewing and proofreading legal documents for completeness, formatting, and consistency
- Providing regular status updates on assigned drafting work
- Maintaining organized file structures, naming conventions, and version control
- Implementing attorney revisions accurately and within expected timelines
- Preparing wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance directives with accuracy
- Drafting estate planning documents using firm-provided software and templates
What We're Looking For:
- At least one to two years of experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal in a law firm required
- Strong document drafting skills are a must
- Experience in estate planning law strongly preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication in both English and Spanish
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Process-oriented and systems-focused mindset
- Ability to manage multiple matters with consistency and accuracy
- Professional judgment, discretion, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proactive and solution-oriented approach to work

- Reliable computer setup (laptop/PC, headset, stable internet min. 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)
