About The Team
The Customer Engagement team at GitHub plays a critical role in ensuring seamless operations, communications, and processes that power some of GitHub's most strategic customer programs. This role is primarily focused on supporting and expanding GitHub's Executive Briefing Center (EBC) program, which drives customer engagement and revenue growth.
Role Summary
The Program Manager / Events Coordinator provides high-level administrative and program support to GitHub's Customer Engagement function. This role acts as an information and communication manager, supporting executive briefing programs through project coordination, process management, stakeholder communication, and operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, comfortable working independently in a remote environment, and interested in a long-term contract engagement.
Typical Day in the Role
In This Role, You Will
- Collaborate with regional sales leaders to improve customer experience and consistency across GitHub and Microsoft briefing centers
- Partner with project sponsors and cross-functional teams to define scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, resources, and budgets for executive briefing initiatives (e.g., roundtable series)
- Promote Executive Briefing programs to sales leadership and regional teams to ensure proper customer targeting and participation
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment on deadlines, deliverables, and schedules
- Establish and execute effective project communication plans
- Track and measure program success using qualitative and quantitative data; report findings to sales and executive leadership
- Develop and deliver enablement sessions for GitHub Sales teams and new hires
- Support expansion of programs into new markets through experimentation and regional adoption testing
- Proactively identify, flag, and mitigate program risks
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general administrative duties including records management, ordering supplies, and basic bookkeeping
- Prepare invoices, reports, memos, letters, financial statements, and presentations
- File, retrieve, and maintain corporate documents, records, and reports
- Open, sort, and distribute incoming correspondence (emails, requests, etc.)
- Draft and prepare responses to inquiries and requests
- Support task execution as assigned by business administrators or leadership
- Maintain consistent administrative workflows and accurate data entry
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent multitasking, time management, and organizational abilities
- High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to quickly ramp up on tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, GitHub, and project management tools (e.g., Jira)
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience
- Backgrounds in events, program management, sales support, marketing, customer support, administrative, or customer-facing roles are strongly preferred
