HR Administrative Assistant Remote (Central U.S. Region)

About the Role
The HR Administrative Assistant provides essential day-to-day administrative support to the HR team, ensuring employee records, systems, and processes are organized and running efficiently across multiple locations. This role is highly detail-oriented and focuses on supporting HR operations, onboarding, compliance tracking, and employee communication.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills looking to grow within Human Resources in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Administration & Recordkeeping
- Maintain and update employee records within the HRIS system (BambooHR preferred)
- Ensure accuracy of employee data, documentation, and personnel files
- Assist with internal audits and compliance documentation tracking
- Support the organization and upkeep of HR files, policies, and standard operating procedures
Onboarding & Employee Documentation
- Assist with onboarding processes including offer letters, new hire paperwork, and system setup
- Track completion of onboarding documents and follow up with new hires as needed
- Coordinate background checks, I-9 verification, and onboarding compliance
HR Systems & Data Entry
- Enter and maintain employee data across HR systems and platforms
- Assist with reporting and basic HR data tracking
- Support workflow management through tools such as Monday.com
Employee Support
- Respond to general HR inquiries related to policies, onboarding, and basic benefits questions
- Support PTO tracking, timekeeping, and attendance record updates
- Assist with employee communications and HR-related announcements
Recruiting Coordination
- Schedule interviews and assist with candidate tracking
- Maintain job postings and support applicant tracking
- Assist with follow-up communication to candidates and hiring managers
General HR & Administrative Support
- Monitor and manage HR shared inbox for timely responses
- Assist HR leadership with scheduling, coordination, and administrative tasks
- Support HR initiatives across multiple locations, including new acquisitions
Qualifications
Required
- 24 years of administrative experience (HR preferred)
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Experience with HRIS systems (BambooHR preferred)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Workspace
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
- Experience in HR, recruiting coordination, or office administration
- Experience supporting multi-location or multi-state teams
- Experience working in trades-based industries (roofing, HVAC, construction, or similar)
- Familiarity with Monday.com or similar task management systems
Work Environment
- 100% Remote position
- Full-time, Non-Exempt
- Available between 9:00 AM 6:00 PM (MondayFriday)
- Candidate must be located in the Central U.S. region
- Occasional travel may be required
