Field Diesel Technician (Road Service / Fleet Maintenance)

Schedule: Full-Time | 6-3 Schedule | On-Call Rotation

We are looking for a skilled Field Diesel Technician / Road Service Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. This position focuses on roadside repairs, fleet maintenance, and heavy equipment service. If you enjoy working independently, solving complex mechanical issues, and keeping trucks and equipment running safely, we want to hear from you.
This is a mobile role — you’ll be dispatched to customer locations and job sites with a fully equipped service truck.
What You’ll Do
- Perform roadside diesel repairs on Class 7–8 trucks and trailers
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, and steering systems
- Service and repair heavy equipment (loaders, excavators, dozers, etc.)
- Complete preventative maintenance and DOT inspections
- Troubleshoot engine and aftertreatment systems using diagnostic software
- Repair air brake systems and hydraulic components
- Perform light welding and fabrication as needed
- Document work orders using fleet maintenance software
- Maintain a clean and organized service truck
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, fleet managers, and customers
What We’re Looking For
- 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Technician, Fleet Mechanic, or Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and electrical diagnostics
- Experience performing road service/mobile repairs preferred
- Familiar with Cummins, Detroit, CAT, or similar diesel platforms
- Ability to work independently in the field
- Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred or ability to obtain)
- Own basic tools (company provides specialty tools)
- Strong troubleshooting skills and safety mindset
Preferred (Not Required)
- ASE Diesel Certification
- Experience with construction or municipal fleets
- Hydraulic system repair experience
