About the Role
The Senior Accounting Manager will own the day-to-day accounting operations and month-end close process, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and audit readiness. This role will partner closely with the Controller to scale accounting operations in a high-growth environment and will manage accounting staff and external partners.
This role is remote, based in the US, and requires U.S. work authorization.
What You'll Do
- Own the month-end and year-end close process: Lead the close from start to finish, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations: Support and oversee core accounting functions including AP, AR, expense reimbursements, payroll support, and general ledger maintenance, remaining hands-on as needed to keep processes moving
- Oversee inventory and cost accounting: Own inventory accounting and reconciliation for hardware, including tracking inventory movements, capitalization, cost recognition, and coordination with operations and supply chain teams
- Ensure audit readiness and strong internal controls: Serve as a key contact for audits, maintain documentation, and help design and improve accounting processes and internal controls to support scalability and compliance
- Support revenue and hardware accounting: Assist with revenue recognition and hardware-as-a-service accounting, ensuring alignment between billing, inventory, and financial reporting
- Manage and develop accounting staff: Oversee and mentor a Staff Accountant, review work for accuracy, set priorities, and ensure deadlines are met while fostering a high standard of execution
- Drive process improvement and scalability: Identify inefficiencies, improve workflows, and support system enhancements (ERP, reporting, automation) to help scale the accounting function as the company grows
What You Have
- 7–10+ years of accounting experience, including prior experience owning month-end close and audit support; CPA and Big 4 or national accounting firm background strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting fundamentals, with hands-on experience in inventory accounting and revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting systems, and supporting cross-system integrations to ensure accurate data flow between Salesforce, ERP, and logistics platforms
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail, with a strong ownership mindset and ability to operate independently

- Experience in a startup, Hardware-As-A-Service, or high-growth environment
- Experience leading or playing a key role in an ERP implementation or migration
