You’ll thrive in this role if you bring:- 5–8+ years of progressive, hands-on accounting experience
- BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
- Strong experience with:
- Accrual accounting
- Job costing
- Posting period management
- Month-end and year-end close
- Solid understanding of:
- Income statements and balance sheets
- Departmental reporting and cost allocation
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Power BI a plus, not required)
- Comfort working independently and owning your work
Required Systems Experience- Hands-on experience with Sage 100 Contractor or Acumatica (1+ year required)
Key Responsibilities- Perform daily and monthly accounting activities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Complete account and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage and execute month-end close
- Maintain accurate job costing and cost allocations
- Prepare monthly financial statements
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Support audits and documentation requests
- Maintain clean, accurate, and timely financial records
Bonus Experience- Construction or contractor accounting
- Cost accounting experience (2+ years)
- CFMA membership
Location Preference- Preference will be given to candidates located in the Phoenix, Arizona area.
- Applicants within a 60-mile radius of Phoenix should expect a hybrid work arrangement, with occasional in-office collaboration.
- Remote candidates outside the Phoenix area will still be considered.
- This allows us to balance flexibility with meaningful in-person connection.
