Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Sheet Metal / Structural Mechanic to perform belly skin and structural repairs on a Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche following a geared collapse event.
This is a focused repair project, ideal for a skilled sheet metal technician or A&P with strong structural experience in general aviation aircraft. Additional work may be available depending on performance and availability.
Responsibilities
- Remove, fabricate, repair, and install aircraft belly skins and associated structural components.
- Perform structural sheet metal repairs in accordance with FAA-approved data, AC 43.13-1B/2B, and Piper repair guidance.
- Inspect surrounding structure for secondary damage, deformation, or corrosion.
- Perform precise drilling, deburring, riveting, patching, and finishing of aluminum structures.
- Maintain clean, inspection-ready workmanship.
- Coordinate repairs with owner/operator and A&P as required.
- Support proper documentation for maintenance records.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience in aircraft sheet metal and structural repair.
- Strong knowledge of aluminum aircraft structures and repair techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and repair data.
- Ability to work independently and produce high-quality results.
Preferred Qualifications
- FAA A&P Certificate (Airframe preferred) or documented experience working under supervision.
- Prior experience with Piper aircraft (PA-30, PA-24, PA-34 preferred).
- Experience with damage repair related to gear events or belly skin repairs.
- Corrosion repair experience.
Pay: From $50.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
