NorthStar is actively seeking to expand staff in our growing Tallahassee office. Under our Administrative Services Contract with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Waste Management, NorthStar will employ administrative and professional personnel to support the Division with its various programs.
POSITION CONCEPT: NorthStar is looking for qualified personnel to fill a professional temporary remote position as an Environmental Records Administrative Associate. The position can either be remote or the staff can be located at the NorthStar office.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Administrative Associate will support the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Petroleum Restoration Program. The primary responsibility of this staff will be to research petroleum facilities that are in Remedial Action phase and to send correspondence to interested parties.
Additional administrative tasks will be assigned, such as redacting documents and uploading applications into the FDEP’s document website.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five years of secretarial or clerical experience;
- College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience; or
- Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.
- Knowledge in FDEP’s Petroleum Restoration Program is highly beneficial;
- Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook;
- A commitment to doing exceptional work and delivering responsive service to our clients;
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and regulatory agency representatives;
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and with a project team to complete project tasks within a specified timeframe;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Strong organizational and time management skills;
- High level of personal integrity with a strong work ethic.
- Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test.

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
