Job Summary
Media One is seeking a skilled and dedicated Field Service Technician to join our diverse and expanding team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills, with experience working in digital printing. This role involves diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical issues related to digital printing equipment, inks, and substrates. Field Service technicians do these tasks remotely and onsite at customer locations. Candidates with backgrounds in industrial mechanics, electrical systems, or military service are encouraged to apply. Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues with digital printing equipment and consumables, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems.
- Analyze and troubleshoot print quality issues, ink performance, and textile compatibility, advising customers on best practices for optimal results.
- Provide remote and onsite support for customers, including troubleshooting via phone, email, and video conferencing, and the appropriate level of timely escalation to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on transfer paper, grand format digital textile printing machines and related finishing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Train customers in proper equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Collaborate with engineering, R&D, and product support teams to identify recurring issues and develop long-term solutions.
- Assist in the installation and calibration of new digital printing equipment to meet production specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain detailed service reports, diagnostic logs, and customer interactions in the company’s service management system to track trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Adhere to safety protocols, ensuring compliance with industry standards, to promote and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in field service, preferably in the digital printing industry.
- Expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, and software-related issues in industrial equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
- Ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.
- Willingness to travel frequently to customer sites for onsite service and support
- Experience with RIP software, ICC profiling, and a basic knowledge of textile substrates, ink chemistry, and print process optimization is a plus.
- Military experience or background is considered a plus due to discipline and technical training received. Pay: $72,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
