Position Summary:
The Territory Service Manager (TSM) plays a critical role in supporting Distributors, Dealers, Key Accounts, and OEMs within an assigned territory. This customer-facing position delivers expert technical support through on-site visits, remote diagnostics, training, and ongoing support. Acting as the primary escalation point for technical issues, the TSM ensures brand integrity, product performance, and high levels of customer satisfaction. This role requires advanced technical knowledge and a hands-on approach to problem-solving, training delivery, and field diagnostics, primarily focused on diesel engines and related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site technical diagnostics and hands-on support for distributors and partners.
- Offer remote support via phone, email, and digital ticketing platforms.
- Log all actions using the internal Ticketing System. • Review and process warranty claims in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct technical training sessions, both in-person and virtually.
- Assist in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.
- Support engineering application reviews and provide feedback on product functionality.
- Identify, document, and communicate quality issues to relevant internal departments.
- Collaborate with service and training teams to address field-related challenges and skill gaps.
- Work closely with the engineering team to facilitate product testing and provide field insights.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on all Hatz products and technical offerings.
- Partner with the sales team to evaluate and onboard potential new dealers.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
- Role will require 50% travel on average but may increase as needed to meet business needs.
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on conflict resolution.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Service-oriented mindset with a proven ability to drive customer satisfaction.
- Proficient with standard office and diagnostic software; adaptable to learning new tools.
- Deep understanding of diesel engine systems, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical theory.
- Able and willing to lift 50 pounds as needed.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a technician or in a similar service, product support, or after-sales role.
- At least 5 years of demonstrated success in providing exceptional customer support.
- High school diploma required; trade school certification strongly preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish or German a plus.
