Our client — a U.S.-based, Private-Equity-backed software group — is partnering with Fintalent to hire a top-tier M&A Manager to support its aggressive buy-and-build strategy across the North American SaaS market.
Role
The M&A Manager will own the origination pipeline, engage founders, evaluate acquisition opportunities, and support end-to-end execution. The role offers direct exposure to senior leadership and the PE sponsor and is ideal for candidates who operate with precision, speed, and high analytical rigor.
Key Responsibilities
• Build, expand, and manage a proprietary pipeline of U.S. software/SaaS targets
• Drive systematic outreach to founders, CEOs, and shareholders
• Build trust-based relationships within a founder-led and fragmented market
• Evaluate strategic fit, product/tech fundamentals, unit economics, and integration potential
• Coordinate internally with product, finance, and operations teams
• Support all deal stages: initial screening, valuation inputs, due diligence coordination
• Maintain structured reporting on funnel metrics and pipeline conversion
• Represent the company as a credible, disciplined, and founder-friendly acquirer
• Work directly with senior management and the PE sponsor to refine the buy-and-build strategy
Candidate Profile
We are deliberately selective. Only candidates who demonstrate excellence, intellectual rigor, and a Tier-1 professional foundation will be considered.
Must have requirements
• Tier-1 background:
– Top-tier Investment Bank (Bulge Bracket or Elite Boutique)
– or leading Management Consulting firm (MBB or equivalent)
– or Corporate Development at a high-performing technology company
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in M&A, Corporate Development, Investment Banking, or Strategy Consulting
• Proven ability to source, build, or manage proprietary deal pipelines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust quickly with founders
• Deep understanding of M&A fundamentals (valuation, financial modeling, deal structures)
• High degree of ownership, independence, and comfort working in a PE-driven environment
• Ability to manage multiple origination and evaluation tracks simultaneously
• Professional-level English communication skills
Nice to have:
• Experience in software, SaaS, IT services, or recurring revenue business models
• Prior exposure to buy-and-build strategies or PE-backed companies
• Existing network in the U.S. technology or founder ecosystem
• Familiarity with product-led growth and modern SaaS metrics
