Position OverviewThe Director of Marketing is a senior leader responsible for shaping and executing MachineMetrics’ marketing strategy across brand, product, lifecycle, and community initiatives. This role requires a highly strategic thinker with strong creative sensibility and the analytical depth to measure and optimize performance. The ideal candidate is both a storyteller and a systems thinker—capable of building compelling narratives, architecting GTM programs, and demonstrating measurable business impact.
This leader will manage and grow a high-performing marketing team while partnering closely with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Executive leadership to drive market awareness, pipeline growth, retention, and customer advocacy.
Key ResponsibilitiesMarketing Strategy & Planning- Develop and execute a cohesive, multi-channel marketing strategy aligned with company growth goals.
- Build and maintain an annual campaign and events calendar that maps to GTM priorities, product milestones, and revenue targets.
- Balance near-term pipeline acceleration with long-term brand building and category leadership.
Community Building & Customer Engagement- Build an engaged community of MachineMetrics users, partners, and advocates through both digital and in-person programs.
- Launch and expand customer communities, including online forums, user groups, advisory councils, and industry meetups.
- Develop programs that foster advocacy, peer learning, and customer storytelling.
Product & Lifecycle Marketing- Lead product marketing, including messaging, positioning, competitive analysis, and sales enablement.
- Shape lifecycle programs that drive onboarding success, retention, expansion, and advocacy.
- Support the development of value propositions that translate complex industrial technology into clear customer outcomes.
Go-to-Market Execution- Develop and execute GTM strategies for new products, features, partnerships, and market segments.
- Partner closely with Sales and Product to deepen buyer and supplier relationships and support revenue growth initiatives.
- Guide the creative development of campaigns, ensuring compelling narrative, strong design, and differentiated storytelling.
Brand Building & Campaign Management- Own MachineMetrics’ brand identity, ensuring consistent voice, visual identity, and messaging across all touchpoints.
- Oversee the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns—from ideation through launch and optimization.
- Lead content strategy across website, thought leadership, customer stories, demand assets, and digital properties.
Market Insights & Performance Analysis- Conduct market, customer, and competitive research to inform positioning and strategy.
- Establish dashboards and reporting frameworks to monitor marketing performance, pipeline impact, and ROI.
- Apply data and insights to continuously test, optimize, and improve programs.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration- Lead, mentor, and expand a high-performing marketing team, supporting managers and specialists across functions.
- Partner with Sales, Finance, Operations, and Product to align on goals, processes, and GTM priorities.
- Play a central role in influencing company-wide growth strategies and communicating marketing's business impact.
Budget & Resource Management- Develop and manage the annual marketing budget, including forecasting, allocation, and ROI analysis.
- Evaluate tools, technologies, and agencies to support marketing operations and scale.
Skills & QualificationsRequired- Experience in a manufacturing, industrial automation, or IIoT SaaS environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, communications, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in marketing management, preferably in B2B SaaS, industrial tech, or a adjacent domain.
- Proven ability to develop and execute GTM strategies that drive revenue and deepen customer relationships.
- Demonstrated success in lifecycle marketing and customer retention programs.
- Strong creative sensibility with the ability to guide messaging, campaigns, and storytelling.
- Excellent analytical capabilities; skilled at applying data, market research, and dashboards to measure and optimize performance.
- Experience with HubSpot and marketing automation tools (e.g., Gong, Google Analytics, ChiliPiper, Wistia, ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini).
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex solutions into compelling value propositions.
- Strong people leadership experience, with a track record of developing teams and managers.
- Skilled collaborator and influencer who can align executives and cross-functional partners.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and can balance strategic thinking with execution.
Preferred- Master’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field.
