Administrative Support Specialist (Volunteer)

Commitment: Flexible, 5–10 hours per week
Opportunity Summary
We’re seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Volunteer Administrative Support Specialist to assist with a variety of organizational, documentation, and coordination tasks across multiple ongoing projects. This is a volunteer position ideal for someone who enjoys creating order, keeping information organized, and supporting meaningful work behind the scenes.
You’ll work directly with the Founder/CEO and core team, helping ensure that administrative operations, project coordination, and daily workflows run smoothly. This role is primarily digital and does not currently require answering phones, but focuses on communication, documentation, and follow-through.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with day-to-day administrative and project coordination tasks.
- Maintain organized records, files, and shared documents across multiple departments.
- Draft, format, and edit letters, forms, and internal and external communications.
- Assist with meeting prep, and reminders for upcoming deadlines or deliverables.
- Record meeting notes and follow-up actions.
- Coordinate team communication and ensure updates are shared consistently.
- Assist with onboarding and document organization for volunteers and staff.
- Support other departments with data entry, organization, and reporting as needed.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflow and communication efficiency.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace tools (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
- Excellent written communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Dependable, self-motivated, and comfortable handling multiple small tasks at once.
- Professional demeanor and discretion with confidential information.
- Prior administrative, office support, or receptionist experience preferred but not required.

Compensation
This is a volunteer position. There is no compensation at this time. However, as the organization reaches key funding milestones, opportunities for paid roles may become available for committed, high-performing team members.
