Claims Assistant, Casualty

As a Claims Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting critical claims operational activities in the Americas region, with a primary focus on administrative processes and associated actions. The role also includes (but is not limited to) providing additional support to Claims Operations for infrastructure and facilities (e.g., telephone inquiries, mail and scanning processes) and general projects.
What you’ll be DOING
What will your essential responsibilities include?
- Support first notice of loss and new claim setup processes and also support with the general claims inbox
- Input & route financial transactions in accordance with authority levels to Claims Specialists and Managers
- Triage queries/ route calls from external contacts (e.g., brokers, insureds, claimants) to support the Claims teams
- Process and distribute mail; attach documents to files
- Request and input W9s in the Claims databases for vendors
- Produce and maintain spreadsheets to enhance data presentation and data analysis
- Assist with low-level IT related issues from Claim Specialists and Claims Managers
- Complete regulatory and compliance claim reports on behalf of the Claims team
- Assist with coordination for audits
- Assist Claims staff with drafting reports and correspondence
- Issue deductible and past due letters
- Processing of closed files and shipments to outside storage facility
- Assist ESS staff with inquiries regarding the processing of transitioned functions and provide assistance with training to ESS staff where necessary
- Participate in inter-team and intra-team ad hoc projects as required
You will report to the leader of Excess Casualty.
What you will BRING
We’re looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
- Experience within the insurance industry administrative support experience (claims experience a “plus”
- Working command of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Verbal and written communication skills are important to the position responding to telephonic and written inquiries
- Capable of working and collaborating within a virtual team environment with either local or remote supervision
- Eager to learn and focused on continuously improving administrative skills
- Proven track record of consistently providing first class customer service internally and externally.

The U.S. base salary range for this position is $53,000 to $84,000 USD.
Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location. We strive for market alignment and internal equity with our colleagues’ pay.
