Since launching at the end of 2024, we’ve gained strong early traction through our DTC site, major online retail channels, and a growing base of independent retailers. As we expand into wholesale, we’re looking for a talented, entrepreneurial sales leader to help build the next breakout brand in the pet space.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a National Sales Manager to lead Cleverpup’s wholesale expansion from the
ground up. This is a high-impact, hands-on role focused on growing our presence across independent
pet retailers, large regional chains, national pet specialty accounts, and adjacent markets like gift and
lifestyle. You’ll own the full sales process and help us lay the foundation for a scalable, differentiated
wholesale business.
What You'll Do
- Own all wholesale sales functions — from lead generation and outreach to account management and reorders
- Open and grow doors across: – Independent pet retailers – Regional pet chains – National pet specialty retailers (e.g., Petco, PetSmart, Pet Supplies Plus) – Gift/lifestyle stores that align with our brand
- Represent Cleverpup at major trade shows (SuperZoo, Global Pet, etc.)
- Manage wholesale platforms (Faire, WholesalePet.com)
- Partner on trade marketing, sell-through tools, and in-store merchandising
- Deliver post-sale support and maintain high account satisfaction
- Help shape sales strategy, pricing, forecasting, and operations
- Play a key role in developing a future wholesale team
Who You Are
- 5+ years of wholesale experience in the pet industry is essential
- Strong experience with both independent retailers and national pet specialty chains
- Existing buyer relationships are a major plus
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and comfortable wearing many hats
- Strong communicator, relationship builder, and closer
- Familiarity with Faire, WholesalePet.com, and other B2B sales tools is a plus
- Bonus: experience in gift, lifestyle, or design-forward consumer brands

Compensation & Details
- Compensation: Competitive salary + performance-based incentives + equity participation
- Location: Remote (U.S.-based); travel required for key meetings and trade shows

- Works closely with: Marketing, Ops, and Product teams
