About this role:
The VoIP Technician serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Telephony Solution. This role acts as a functional specialist, consulting with clients on their hosted phone needs, ordering hardware, installing hosted phone systems, and providing advanced support in telephony solutions.
A few of the things you'll be doing:
- Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on hosted phone systems,
- Install and configure hosted phone systems according to client requirements and specifications.
- Provide level 2 support for telephony issues, troubleshooting and resolving technical problems.
- Provide guidance and training to clients and internal teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation.
- Document installation processes, configurations, and client interactions for reference and future support.
- Participate in testing and quality assurance processes to validate system functionality and performance.
- Contribute to the improvement of implementation and support processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in hosted phone technologies to provide informed recommendations and solutions.
What you bring to the table (among other things):
- Proven experience in telephony installation, configuration, and support, preferably in a hosted or cloud-based environment.
- Strong technical proficiency with telephony systems and associated technologies.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to clients and team members.
- Detail-oriented and organized with a focus on documentation and process improvement.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
- Certification in telephony systems (e.g., Cisco CCNA Voice, Avaya ACSS) is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with: Netsapiens; SIP-based VoIP Phone experience (Yealink, Poly, Grandstream, etc.); automotive industry exposure; telephony experience with number porting and SMS
Additional Information:
- This role involves occasional travel to client sites for installations and support.
