Melinda Maria is a fast-growing and empowering female-led brand with a mission to reveal the fun side of fashion and inspire women of all walks of life to feel beautiful and confident everyday. Our Director of Social plays a critical role in the evolution of the brand by leading our social media strategy and initiatives. Working alongside executive and creative teams, this role leads the development, execution, and strategy for all aspects of the brand's social projects including but not limited to: revenue driving social channel initiatives, influencer/ambassador program, and social community strategies.
Responsibilities:
Organic Social
- Serve as the lead for all social media platforms
- Develop and oversee brand and community building initiatives in all channels with objectives around building brand awareness, engagement, and revenue.
- Oversee internal and external team communications on social platforms to ensure consistent brand tone and timely interactions.
- Develop and manage proactive community building initiatives on all social platforms to ensure consistent growth of followers, engagement, and referral traffic.
- Foster and strengthen relationships with brand partners and key influencers within our community through strategic social interactions.
- Oversee Influencer prospecting, gifting management, and the tracking and analysis of these initiatives for social media.
- Utilize social listening tools to monitor brand sentiment, and address potential conflicts to protect our brand reputation.
- Generate detailed reports on community sentiment, offering actionable feedback for our marketing strategies.
- Alongside social and marketing teams, ideate, outline and help execute on content execution plan.
- Create the social calendar and ensure it is executed upon, with all postings made on time and measured.
Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the social team, ensuring tasks are executed accurately, on schedule within budget
- Coach junior team members and cultivate a culture of creativity, accountability, and innovation.
- Be a thought leader in the social/influencer marketing space; identify opportunities for partnerships or innovation.
- Occasionally represent the brand at influencer/creator events, conferences, or industry panels as requested by leadership
Ambassador Community:
- Oversee the execution of our social ambassador program.
- Alongside Senior Leadership, evolve the program to benefit the brand’s growth both in sales and organic views.
- Identify and nurture strategic partnerships with high-impact ambassadors (influencers, micro-creators, customers, etc.) who can drive meaningful band engagement.
- Ensure all program touchpoints and participant experiences align with Brand identity and vision.
- Lead ambassador-driven social campaigns, product launches, and seasonal initiatives.
- Collaborate with social, content, and product teams to integrate ambassador content into broader marketing.
- Track and report performance metrics to leadership with actionable recommendations.
- Manage program budget, affiliate commission structures, gifting allocations, and partnership contracts.
- Conduct regular audits of ambassador program and implement strategies to improve retention and content impact.
This role can be remote for the right candidate, with some travel for key on-site meetings when necessary.
