Role Description
This is a full-time remote role for a Financial Accountant. We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team. This individual will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, and handling complex books and financials in QuickBooks. The role requires someone detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced with closing the books and managing multiple projects and classes within QuickBooks Online. The role requires not only technical accounting expertise but also strong communication skills to interact with clients, gather missing information, and resolve questions related to transactions.
Responsibilities
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries (accruals, loans, depreciation, payroll entries).
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of the books.
- Review and reconcile accounts, including bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain classes, locations, and project accounting in QuickBooks for accurate reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
- Prepare financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow).
- Communicate with clients to gather missing transaction details, supporting documents, and respond to accounting-related inquiries.
- Collaborate with management and external accountants/tax advisors as needed.
- Develop and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for clients using Reach
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably with client-facing responsibilities.
• Strong QuickBooks Online (QBO) experience, including advanced features (classes, projects, custom reports).
• Experience creating KPI dashboards in Reach
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Highly organized with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working with multi-entity or complex books.
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, advanced formulas, reporting).
- Prior experience in public accounting, advisory, or client service roles.
