Our client, a dynamic family-owned group of companies, is seeking a talented Bookkeeper to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced bookkeeper to manage financial operations across multiple entities while enjoying the flexibility of remote work with occasional in-office collaboration (about once a month).
Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank and credit card reconciliations for multiple business entities.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet.
- Process payroll for under 50 employees using ADP, collaborating with the Payroll/HR Manager on payroll-related tasks such as timecard verification and reporting.
- Manage daily accounting operations in QuickBooks, including data entry, journal entries, and account maintenance.
- Manage Accounts Receivable (AR), including invoicing, payment application, collections, and preparing the AR aging report. Collaborate with the billing team (healthcare setting) to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP), including processing vendor invoices, scheduling payments, and reconciling vendor statements.
- Process and reconcile various incoming statements, including bank statements, credit card statements, and state tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate processing and compliance.
- Support financial operations across multiple related businesses, maintaining strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Manage state tax filings, including sales tax, payroll tax, and other applicable state taxes, ensuring timely filing and compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper with strong accounting skills.
- Extensive experience with QuickBooks (essential).
- Experience with Sage accounting software is a plus.
- Experience processing payroll using ADP.
- Understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet).
- Experience with AR and AP.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to commute to Palm Beach approximately once per month (easily accessible via Brightline).
