Head of Sales - Retail Channels (Cosmeceutical / Skincare)
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Sales will develop and execute the retail sales strategy, build and manage retail channel partnerships, and drive revenue growth across retail and distribution channels for product lines. The head of sales will bring experience launching a 100% DTC brand into brick and mortar. The ideal candidate will have experience opening accounts from the ground up with Ulta and other leading personal care, skincare, and cosmeceutical retailers.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Product Launch Management
- Develop and implement comprehensive retail channel sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and market penetration goals
- Contact and negotiate terms for new accounts with major beauty supply chains.
- Bringing beauty and skincare brands to retail involves initial touchpoints, ongoing growth, contract negotiations, and retail product support.
- Lead negotiations for retail partnerships, distribution agreements, and terms of trade
- Lead the go-to-market strategy for new product launches across retail channels
- Collaborate with Marketing and Product teams to create compelling launch strategies
- Create and execute business plans for retail expansion across various channels
- Drive retail merchandising strategies and in-store visibility programs
- Ensure consistent brand positioning and messaging across retail channels
- Forecast sales and develop annual budgets
- Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics
- Optimize inventory management across retail channels
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required, MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive sales experience in the skincare/dermatology/beauty/ industry
- 5+ years in senior sales leadership role
- Demonstrated success in developing and managing relationships with major retailers
- Experience with both specialty beauty retail and mass market channels
- Profound understanding of dermatology/skincare/beauty/cosmetics retail landscape
- Strong knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, and category management
- Advanced negotiation and relationship-building capabilities
- Strong analytical and financial acumen
