Job Responsibilities:
Accurately Record Transactions: Enter daily financial data into bookkeeping software and spreadsheets to ensure precise and organized records.
Process Payments: Handle vendor bill payments using online systems such as ACH, Direct Bill Pay, or vendor-specific portals.
Organize Financial Documentation: Gather, sort, and digitize invoices, receipts, and statements for efficient record keeping.
Reconcile Accounts: Balance and verify bank and credit card statements to identify and resolve discrepancies.
Facilitate Communication: Collaborate with team members and stakeholders through WhatsApp, email, phone, or virtual meeting platforms to keep workflows smooth.
Calculate Financial Metrics: Compute interest charges, fees, and other financial figures as needed.
Support Stakeholder Relationships: Liaise with clients, vendors, and suppliers to address questions or resolve financial issues.
Prepare Financial Reports: Compile and organize data into reports for review by senior staff.
Identify Errors: Notify senior team members of any detected accounting inaccuracies or irregularities.
Assist with Payroll: Help prepare payroll documentation to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Contribute to Special Projects: Provide support for additional tasks and projects to meet departmental goals.
Requirements
- Comfortable working in an online/cloud-based environment, as this position is remote
- Exceptional time management, communication, and critical thinking skills
- Enjoys working with numbers
- 1-2 years using Microsoft Excel (Intermediate Knowledge)
- 1-2 years of college coursework in accounting or finance
- 1-2 years of experience using Microsoft 365 Suite and Adobe Acrobat (PDF editor)
Preferred
- Prior work experience in an accounting role
- Prior experience using QuickBooks Online
