City Cast is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to help bring our full-cycle accounting in-house and take ownership of its processes.

About The Role:
You'll take full ownership of our accounting processes, currently managed by our sister company, Slate. You'll manage multiple general ledger functions, run month-end close, prepare financial statements, process receivables, and spot opportunities for improvement. With the anticipated growth of City Cast, you'll get the chance to lead the way in building a stellar accounting team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full Cycle Accounting
- Partner with the Director of Finance to bring accounting in-house
- Prepare month-end entries pertaining but not limited to: ad sales and subscription revenue recognition, payroll allocations, expense accruals & reversals, reclasses, prepaids, purchasing cards, and reconciliations
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes in accordance with internal and parent company deadlines
- Monitor and process accounts receivable and billings
- Ensure GAAP compliance and other relevant financial regulations
- Accurate Analysis
- Support FP&A in financial data analysis (variances, irregularities, etc.)
- Monitor cash flow and assist in cash forecasting
- Prepare ad hoc reports as requested
- Partnership & Management
- Collaborate with Director of Finance to evaluate and implement improvements to City Cast's accounting processes
- Work with revenue team to track ad sales deliveries and accurate revenue recognition
- Work with operations teams and sister company payment processor to track invoices, payments, and p-card transactions
- As accounting at City Cast develops, supervise and mentor junior staff
- Build meaningful relationships with business and operations leaders to foster collaboration and drive success
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA is a plus
- Full cycle accounting
- Thorough grasp of GAAP, ASC 606, and financial management principles
- Technical knowledge in at least one major ERP (ex: Oracle EBS, NetSuite, SAP)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting and compliance
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to relay financial information to non-financial stakeholders
- Team player with a kind and positive attitude
- Prior accounting work in podcasting, digital media, and/or entertainment space
- Familiarity with ad sales and membership revenue - including CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce - and payment platforms such as Stripe is another plus
Required:
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in and physically located in the United States
This position is full-time and remote, with excellent benefits. The salary range is $110,000 to $125,000, depending on experience.
