The Stars Quality team uses analytics to improve the overall experience and quality of care for our members. As a Data Analyst within the team, you will be responsible for building out processes to ensure that our business partners have the information and confidence they need to make crucial business decisions. You will work closely with our business users to understand their needs and priorities with the autonomy to propose new solutions and leverage new technologies, while being supported by a wider team of Data Engineers, Business Analysts and Data Scientists.
Primary Responsibilities of the Data Analyst:
• Design, build, and maintain architecture pertaining to data processing
• Support data processing, preexisting reporting, applications and customer facing reports, or data
• Develop views for end users utilizing reporting platforms such as SSRS or any other reporting tools
• Responsible for maintaining existing data load process building blocks and customizations
• Validate new or enhanced technical development and implementation and work closely with Quality Assurance Engineers to achieve quality and accuracy
• Demonstrate data literacy and be resourceful in terms of understanding Medicare overall, STAR measures, gap closures and claims
• Learn about the products, share ideas and be able to train or influence other team members

Required Qualifications of the Data Analyst:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience working with relational data and SQL programming (SQL Server, Teradata, Snowflake or similar databases)
• Proven experience in building simple to complex SSIS packages for data processing, that involves data movement between various servers (SQL/ Teradata/ Hive), working with text files, and other data sources
• Experience with the software development life cycle (i.e. Business Requirements, Technical Documentation, Quality Assurance)
• Self-guided in terms of understating data in physical tables or views, and ability to create/ enhance stored procedures or functions pertaining to report feeds, or any input/output
• Ability to perform system investigation, reverse engineering, and new development while adhering to development standards and good change control practice
• Ability to develop and manage multiple projects with minimal direction and supervision
Preferred Qualifications of the Data Analyst:
• Advanced or higher level of proficiency in SQL programming, data analysis and data management
• Experience of building reports in SSRS
• Experience with automating ETL packages
• Experience in Healthcare, Financial Services, or Insurance Industry
• Knowledge of Medicare
