Role Summary
The Claims Opener is responsible for opening first-party (1P) and third-party (3P) insurance claims on behalf of Pathway Law Firm clients, capturing claim and adjuster information in Salesforce, and supporting the Head of Claims in dispatching Letters of Representation (LOR) and Preservation of Evidence (POE) letters. This role is the execution arm of the Claims department — the person doing the actual carrier calls and Salesforce data entry that the rest of the firm depends on.
Core Responsibilities
Open 1P claims with the client's own insurance carrier, including standard auto, UM/UIM, and MedPay claims.
Open 3P claims with the defendant's insurance carrier, including UBER, Lyft, and DoorDash driver claims.
Call carriers to initiate claims, verify policy information, identify the named policyholder, and confirm the client's role on the policy (named insured, household resident, permissive driver, passenger, pedestrian).
Enter claim data into Salesforce immediately after opening — claim number, adjuster name, phone, email, and fax — in the correct named fields. No information left in attachments or notes.
Support LOR and POE dispatch by ensuring all gating inputs are present and accurate before the team generates and sends letters.
Re-verify information when intake data appears incomplete or inconsistent
