This is a remote position based in Chile, supporting U.S.-bound cargo and international clients. As we continue to grow, this role is part of our long-term vision to expand operations into Chile, offering strong future growth opportunities.

Responsibilities:
Ocean Lifecycle Management
Oversee the entire lifecycle of ocean import/export shipments with meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the highest levels of compliance.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of customs clearance processes, continuously evaluating and mitigating associated risks to prevent potential issues.
Shipment Coordination and Documentation
Exhibit a keen analytical eye to scrutinize customer shipping requests, providing precise and competitive freight quotes. This analysis considers not only the immediate cost but also profitability margins, ensuring the most advantageous outcomes.
Proactively orchestrate bookings with ocean carriers, a multifaceted process that involves negotiation skills to secure favorable rates. This strategic approach optimizes costs while ensuring alignment with customers' unique requirements.
Assume responsibility for the development and maintenance of comprehensive shipping documentation. This involves meticulous attention to detail to guarantee strict compliance with all relevant regulations.
Exercise vigilance in monitoring and preventing documentation errors, a critical component of upholding the accuracy of AES (Automated Export System) filing. By doing so, you contribute to the overall integrity of export operations.
Exhibit a methodical approach to requesting and verifying all essential documents from shippers, a critical process that includes securing the power of attorney, commercial invoice, packing list, insurance certificate, and Shipper's Letter of Instruction (SLI).
Communication and Customer Service
Cultivate an environment of open, transparent, and effective communication with clients, carriers, and overseas agents. This involves proficiency in both verbal and written communication, ensuring that all stakeholders are well-informed throughout the intricate journey of ocean shipment.
Exhibit a high degree of professionalism in handling export customer service calls, booking requests, and inquiries. Your prompt and efficient responses are instrumental in maintaining customer satisfaction.
Proactively serve as the bearer of information, promptly notifying customers of any potential shipment delays, and providing regular, reassuring updates on the status and disposition of their valuable cargo.
Accounting and Record Keeping
Assume the role of the financial steward for all matters concerning the ocean export/import department. This entails the precise management of accounting processes, including meticulous billing and invoicing, adherence to established timelines, and a commitment to data integrity.
Be the architect of comprehensive booking confirmations, ensuring they contain all essential information required by both clients and internal teams. Your dedication to completeness in this aspect ensures the clarity and efficiency of operations.
Uphold the highest standards of recordkeeping. This responsibility extends to ensuring the timely closure of files and the maintenance of meticulously organized records, all of which play a vital role in audit readiness and the preparation of insightful reports.
Facilitate the dispatching of drivers for freight pickups, maintaining a vigilant watch over arrivals, thereby upholding operational continuity and efficiency.
Intermodal Coordination
Take on the crucial responsibility of ensuring the release of bookings at depots for export moves. Additionally, exercise due diligence in tracing import containers, validating that delivery is completed within the last free day.
