Position Overview
Nubephant is looking for a Junior Cloud Backup & Disaster Recovery Support Engineer to assist with deployment and technical support of backup and disaster recovery platforms used in enterprise environments across the Americas.
This role supports both deployment and troubleshooting activities for infrastructure running on cloud and virtualized environments, including backup and replication platforms such as Hystax Acura.
The ideal candidate is eager to learn cloud infrastructure, disaster recovery, and enterprise backup technologies.
Responsibilities
- Assist in deployment and configuration of Disaster Recovery platforms
- Support installation and configuration of Linux and Windows virtual machines
- Provide technical support to partners during onboarding and operations
- Troubleshoot backup and replication issues
- Assist with system validation and recovery tests
- Document deployment and troubleshooting procedures
- Support escalation cases related to infrastructure and backup systems
Required Skills
- Basic Linux administration knowledge
- Basic Windows Server administration knowledge
- Understanding of virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, Proxmox, KVM, etc.)
- Basic networking knowledge (IP, DNS, routing concepts)
- Understanding of backup and replication concepts
- Familiarity with Windows VSS (Volume Shadow Copy Service) concepts
- Ability to document technical procedures clearly
- English communication skills for technical support calls and emails
- Strong willingness to learn cloud and DR technologies
Nice to Have
- Experience with backup solutions (Veeam, Zerto, Rubrik, etc.)
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, OpenStack
- Basic scripting knowledge (Bash or Python)
- Familiarity with containers (Docker)
- Experience reading logs and troubleshooting infrastructure issues
