Role Overview: This role offers an opportunity to support the probate side of a legal practice by helping clients navigate sensitive and often emotional processes with professionalism and care. As a Legal Assistant for Job Duck, you will contribute to a smooth workflow by drafting key documents, coordinating with attorneys, and maintaining steady communication with clients who depend on clarity and compassion. Your work will directly support a lead attorney and paralegal, ensuring all tasks move forward efficiently while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. This position is ideal for someone adaptable, highly tech‑savvy, and eager to learn new systems and processes. Candidates who thrive in a structured yet dynamic environment and who can balance empathy with productivity will excel in this role.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM PST (USA)
Your Responsibilities Will Include but Are Not Limited To:
- Drafting legal documents related to probate matters
- Assisting and liaising closely with the lead attorney and paralegal
- Using drafting software to prepare accurate and compliant documents
- Coordinating remote access tools including VPN and server connections
- Communicating progress updates and flagging blockers proactively
- Tracking, prioritizing, and completing daily task lists
- Completing assigned legal and administrative tasks within established workflows
- Maintaining accurate records and consistently following up on assigned matters
- Coordinating with other team members to ensure task alignment
- Supporting overall case progression through timely execution of responsibilities
- Managing and updating case information through the CRM system
- Supporting overall workflow on the probate side of the firm and ensuring timely task completion
- Handling light outbound calling as needed (1–5 daily)
- Communicating with clients in a compassionate and efficient manner and helping guide them through the probate process
- Managing case information within Clio and other required systems
What We're Looking For:
- Practice Areas Supported: Estate Planning, Business Planning, Trusts, Probate
- Software and Tools:
- CRM: Clio
- VOIP: DialPad
- Other: Drafting software, VPN, remote server access
- Start Date: Immediate
- Call Volume: 1 to 5 outbound calls per day; no incoming call handling required; internal communication largely conducted through Clio
- Reliable computer setup (laptop/PC, headset, stable internet min. 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload)
