Job Summary
This Client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to manage and maintain accurate financial records. The successful candidate will be responsible for reconciling bank and credit card statements, processing invoices, managing accounts receivable and payable, and maintaining the general ledger. This role requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and excellent attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly
- Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Manage payroll processing and reporting
- Prepare and submit BAS (Business Activity Statements) and assist with GST reconciliations
- Handle invoicing and billing activities
- Maintain and organize financial documentation and records
- Assist with month-end and year-end financial closing processes
- Coordinate with external accountants for tax and audit purposes
Requirments
Required Qualifications And Skills
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably in an Australian accounting environment
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, MYOB, or QuickBooks
- Strong knowledge of GST, BAS preparation, and payroll processing
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or Accounting or equivalent qualification
- Experience working with Australian small to medium enterprises
