Role Description
As a Project Manager at Just Whole Care, you'll be responsible for shepherding complex health equity consulting projects from start to finish, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with client goals. Working closely with our Principals, Senior Managers, and Analysts, you will be one of the operational engines behind new tech-enabled consulting models.
You will bridge the gap between clinical strategy and operational execution, translating complex policy into standardized tools and overseeing the delivery of data-driven insights. You will also be the primary point of contact for cross-functional teams, both internal and external, including community-based providers, healthcare and public health executives, health plans, policymakers, and digital leaders to plan, execute, and monitor projects.
This is a remote role, with preference for candidates in the Los Angeles Metropolitan Area, with flexibility for some on-site work. At this time, we can only consider California-based applicants.
Key responsibilities you will have:
- Develop comprehensive, detailed project plans that include timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Translate complex Medi-Cal, CalAIM, BHSA, and public health policies into structured logic, standardized assessment tools, and operational frameworks.
- Design and oversee modular workflows and data-visualization dashboards to streamline client deliverables.
- Direct Analysts in rigorous Quality Assurance processes, ensuring all deliverables maintain zero-defect alignment with state and county compliance standards.
- Manage project scope, track progress, and identify and mitigate risks.
- Facilitate communication between all stakeholders involved in the project.
- Liaise with partners and clients to identify, define, and refine project requirements, scope, and objectives.
- Ensure projects adhere to healthcare industry regulations and standards (e.g., HIPAA or FERPA compliance).
- Prepare and deliver high-level project presentation materials and reports to stakeholders.
- Relay and help interpret client feedback to continually refine internal consulting architecture and tech-enabled processes.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, project management, policy or a related field (MBA, MPH, or MPP preferred).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project managing healthcare or public health projects from conception to delivery for a consulting firm or large organization.
- Highly analytical systems-thinker with a proven ability to bridge the gap between high-level clinical strategy and detailed operational tool development.
- Proven experience developing and managing project plans, budgets, and timelines, including the ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, CalAIM or BHSA, safety-net services funding, and compliance requirements.
- Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time management, with the ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, project management software, and file-sharing platforms.
- Comfort and ability to leverage enterprise GenAI tools to optimize consulting workflows, synthesize complex data, and translate business rules into structured logic, while ensuring strict compliance with internal and external safety policies.
- Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, PMP cert.) a plus.
