Social Media & Content Specialist
Location: Remote (Based in the U.S.)
Temp Position (with potential to convert to full-time)
About The Role
The Social Media & Content Specialist supports the execution of social media, content creation, and influencer initiatives across multiple ecommerce brands. This role is responsible for bringing the social strategy to life through consistent content production, posting, community engagement, and influencer coordination.
A key focus of this role is video-first content creation, helping to build a steady pipeline of engaging, platform-native content across Instagram, TikTok, and emerging channels. This person will work closely with Creative, Ecommerce, and Marketing teams to ensure content aligns with promotional priorities and brand voice.
Success in this role requires strong execution, creativity, attention to detail, and a willingness to test, learn, and iterate.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Execution
- Execute day-to-day social media posting across key platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, etc.)
- Assist in managing the social content calendar, ensuring alignment with promotional and marketing initiatives
- Write captions, select hashtags, and optimize posts for reach and engagement
- Monitor trends, platform updates, and competitor activity to inform content execution
- Support growth and engagement through consistent, high-quality posting
- Content Production (Video-Focused)
- Create and edit short-form video content (Reels, TikTok) aligned with brand and campaign goals
- Assist in concepting and executing content ideas that are engaging and platform-native
- Capture and produce content (product-focused, lifestyle, UGC-style, trend-based formats)
- Partner with Creative and Design teams to bring content ideas to life
- Help maintain a consistent pipeline of content to support always-on and campaign needs
- Test different content styles, formats, and hooks to improve performance
- Influencer & Creator Support
- Support the identification and outreach of influencers and content creators
- Assist in coordinating gifting, partnerships, and campaign deliverables
- Help manage timelines, product sends, and communication with creators
- Track influencer content and ensure alignment with brand guidelines
- Support reporting on influencer campaign performance
- Community Engagement
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and tagged content across platforms
- Engage with followers and creators to build brand affinity and community
- Identify and surface UGC opportunities for reposting and campaigns
- Help foster relationships within the home décor and design community
- Reporting & Insights
- Assist in compiling weekly and monthly social and influencer performance reports
- Track key metrics including engagement, follower growth, and content performance
- Identify top-performing content and share insights with the broader team
- Support ongoing testing and optimization efforts
- Cross-Brand & Team Support
- Support cross-brand promotional efforts in partnership across multiple ecommerce brands
- Coordinate shared marketing cadence and initiatives
- Support trade or B2B program growth by aligning promotional strategy, site experience, and lifecycle marketing to drive acquisition, engagement, and retention
Qualifications
- Preferred: Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Merchandising, Marketing, or related field
- 1–3+ years of experience in social media, content creation, or influencer marketing, preferably in ecommerce
- Strong interest and experience in short-form video content (TikTok, Reels)
- Basic video editing skills (Canva, Adobe, or similar tools)
- Understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Creative mindset with the ability to execute quickly and consistently
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Ownership mindset with a willingness to learn and improve

Hourly Rate: $25-$30/hr
This range represents the good-faith estimate of the pay the employer reasonably expects to offer upon hire, based on the role’s responsibilities, required experience, location, and internal equity.
Incentives & Benefits
This position may be eligible for employee discounts, commission, and discretionary performance-based bonuses and participation in applicable incentive programs. The role also offers a comprehensive benefits package if converted to full-time, which may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, and other employee benefits, subject to eligibility requirements.
