For this full-time, remote role we are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented bookkeeper/accountant to handle the day-to-day financial record keeping for our growing business. In addition to routine bookkeeping duties, the role requires expense analysis, budgeting, advanced revenue allocation, adjustments for departmentalization, and other duties requiring a high level of accounting knowledge. This position also includes certain administrative duties for the company, such as helping to administer our internal tech-stack. You will report directly to the CEO/Owner and work with our CPA to keep our books accurate, organized, and current. In summary, we are looking for a tech-savvy professional who is equally comfortable performing a deep-dive expense analysis and picking up the phone to resolve a billing dispute or collect a past-due payment
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Management & Analysis
- Handle all bookkeeping tasks needed to keep accounting records current on a daily basis.
- Manage AP and vendor payments, and categorize expenses accurately and consistently.
- Reconcile bank and credit card transactions monthly.
- Make adjusting entries to allocate revenues and expenses to the correct accounts and time periods.
- Handle month-end closing, including producing monthly financial statements.
- Prepare financial documentation for CPA review as needed for tax preparation.
- Work with department managers to create and track budgets; audit monthly spending to identify trends and opportunities for cost-savings.
- Accounts Receivable & Customer Success
- Work with our billing administrator and sales team to assist in managing billing and receivables, including actively working with customers to collect past-due receivables.
- Ensure all incoming payments are accurately applied and coded within the accounting system.
- Assist with oversight of recurring contracts and subscriptions to ensure correct pricing to customers.
- Provide backup to the billing administrator as needed.
- Systems & IT Administration
- Help to manage user permissions and seats for the team’s tech stack (1Password, Slack, Google Workspace, etc.).
- Ensure new team members have immediate and secure access to all necessary digital tools.
Qualifications
- 2+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience; strong work ethic
- High proficiency with Quickbooks and Excel, Google Workspace experience a plus.
- Experience handling various administrative duties, such as managing software subscriptions, assisting with special projects, etc.
- Proven record of integrity in handling financial matters; a clean background check is required.
